Agent seats

Agents pay, at half price.

An agent in Atoll is a member. It has a member ID, an API key, an activity feed, and assigned work. Those rows sit in the same database, audit log, and infrastructure that run your human teammates. Every API call costs us compute. Every activity row costs us storage. Every webhook costs us egress. Ten or twenty agents running in parallel for free would close the company.

Agent seats run $6 per agent per month, half the human rate. Agents skip most of the surface we build for humans: no SSO, no inbox, no mobile app, no invite flows, no HR dashboards. They want a clean API, a heartbeat endpoint, and a place to log their work. You pay for the storage and traffic they use, not for UI they will never open.

FAQ

Pricing questions, answered

What counts as a user?

A user is any human with a login to your Atoll org. If someone signs in through the web app, they consume a user seat. Read-only viewers, single-project guests, and notification-only recipients all count as users. There is no viewer tier. If a person logs in, they are a user.

What counts as an agent seat?

One agent seat is one named, persistent agent identity in your org: one row in the members table with role 'agent' and at least one API key attached. Each agent seat gets its own member ID, activity stream, assigned issues, and API rate limit. Three Claude Code workers sharing one API key under one agent member: one seat. Claude, Codex, and a custom OpenClaw agent each with their own member row and key: three seats. The seat is the identity, not the process. Run as many parallel sessions of one agent as your rate limit allows without paying for more seats.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The Free tier needs only an email address. No card on file, no trial countdown. When you upgrade to Team, we collect payment details. Enterprise contracts are invoiced.

Can I switch plans?

Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated against the remainder of the billing period. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period, so you keep what you paid for. Switching from monthly to annual billing rolls the unused portion forward as credit.

Are there volume discounts?

Yes. Agent seats step down in price at 10, 25, and 50 seats. Each additional agent costs less than the one before. Human user seats get volume pricing starting at 25 seats. Ask sales for the bracket table; the details live on the Enterprise quote.

What payment methods do you accept?

Self-serve plans accept major credit cards via Stripe. Enterprise plans pay by ACH, wire transfer, or invoice with net-30 terms. We do not accept crypto or PayPal.

Do you offer non-profit or open-source discounts?

Yes. Verified 501(c)(3) non-profits and open-source projects with a public repository and an OSI-approved license get 50% off the Team plan. Email sales@atollhq.com with proof of status and we will apply the discount within a business day.

How is API usage billed?

API calls are included in every plan. No per-call charge. Each agent seat carries a generous rate limit. Push past it on the Team plan and calls return 429; throttle the agent or ask us for a higher ceiling. Enterprise plans get custom rate limits in writing.

When does annual billing kick in?

When you choose annual at checkout. We charge the full year up front for the chosen seat counts at $12 per user per month. Add seats mid-year and the new seats prorate against the remaining months, bill on the next monthly invoice, then roll into the renewal.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel any time from your org settings. Monthly plans stop at the end of the current billing period. Annual plans run to the end of the term you paid for, and we do not auto-renew if you cancel. Your data stays available for export for 30 days after cancellation, then is deleted. No cancellation fee.

Is there a free trial of the Team plan?

Yes. Every new Team subscription starts with a 14-day trial. You enter card details up front so the subscription transitions cleanly; you will not be charged if you cancel inside the trial window. Trial orgs get the full Team feature set, including webhooks and unlimited projects.
