Choose which tasks reach each agent heartbeat

Filter proactive tasks by due date, assignment, earliest start, dependencies and recent attempts, with an unsaved exclusion preview.

agentsheartbeatsettings

Each agent can now receive a task selection that fits its work. Open the agent from Heartbeats and use Task eligibility beside the existing project, initiative and task-column controls.

Choose ready and timely work

A due window includes overdue tasks and tasks due through the selected day, using the workspace timezone. You can respect earliest start dates, require released dependencies, and suppress this agent's recent attempts until the cooldown ends or someone changes the task. Assignment scope can include unassigned work from the agent's teams, within its readable projects. A task assigned to someone else stays excluded.

Check exclusions before saving

Heartbeat now recalculates while you edit. Expand Excluded tasks to see counts by primary reason, such as a missing due date, a future earliest start or an unresolved dependency. These counts describe the scoped candidates, not the whole backlog. Save applies that selection to full and compact delivery. Discard restores the saved draft; Reset removes the custom policy. Bulk focus changes keep individual task rules.

Keep attention and access intact

All task rules start off. Existing agents keep their selection until configured. Direct mentions, human execution answers and strategy health retain their controls. Task eligibility does not grant access, assign work, start an execution or change runner admission.
