Keep a source with each Artifact revision
Select an existing External Reference and preserve its source pointer with an immutable Artifact revision.
Select an existing External Reference when you create or revise an Artifact in Task or Project Context. The saved revision keeps the source link and its label, so readers can inspect the source used for that revision.
Keep the source with its revision
Keep the current source, choose a replacement, or clear the source on a new revision. Earlier revisions retain their snapshots even after the live reference is removed from Context. Readers must still have access to the recorded source issue or project to see the source.
The source is a pointer supplied by the editor. Atoll does not copy, synchronize, or verify the external content or your provider access.
Use the same source through REST and CLI
REST callers can select a source link and request the source projection for one revision. CLI users can set a source with --source-reference-id or remove it with --clear-source. Exact revision checks still protect every update. Typed MCP source fields are not yet available.
